Should a woman get a relaxer during pregnancy or wait until after pregnancy?I believe that she should wait after her first trimester just to be safe. This is when the baby’s development and safety is most vulnerable. Discussing this issue with her doctor is important so that she can put her mind at ease.No mother wants to harm her baby unknowingly. All mothers should educate themselves before applying chemicals to their scalp or body.
During my first pregnancy which was years ago, I stopped getting relaxers, because my doctor insisted that I wait until after my first trimester. After my three months, I decided to totally stop relaxing my hair. This was the best decision I ever made. I never turned back.

During pregnancy the body make more hormones that promotes accelerated hair growth.Three to six months after pregnancy, hair loss should decrease. Just remember, your hormones will go back to their normal levels.
Post-pregnancy hair loss seems to be excessive , because the hair you are shedding seems to fall out all at once. Be patient, you hair should start to grow back between 6 to 12 months. If hair loss seems to be progressing for a longer period, please see your doctor.
